General Information About Paris

Nowhere else on earth makes the heart swoon like the mention of Paris. The city lures with its magnificent art, architecture, culture, and cuisine, but there’s also a quieter magic waiting to be explored: the quaint cobbled lanes, the sweet patisseries around the corner, and the cozy little bistros that beckon with a glass of Beaujolais. Get ready to make Paris your own.

Sports in Paris

Paris' most popular sport clubs are the association football club Paris Saint-Germain F.C. and the rugby union clubs Stade Français and Racing 92, the last of which is based just outside the city proper.

Sports in Paris

The 80,000-seat Stade de France, built for the 1998 FIFA World Cup, is located just north of Paris in the commune of Saint-Denis. It is used for football, rugby union and track and field athletics. It hosts the French national football team for friendlies and major tournaments qualifiers, annually hosts the French national rugby team's home matches of the Six Nations Championship, and hosts several important matches of the Stade Français rugby team.

Paris Culture and History

Culture

The culture of Paris concerns the arts, music, museums, festivals and other entertainment in Paris, the capital city of France. The city is today one of the world's leading business and cultural centers; entertainment, music, media, fashion, and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the world's major global cities.

History

The history of Paris dates back to approximately 259 BC, with the Parisii, a Celtic tribe settled on the banks of the Seine. In 52 BC, the fishermen village was conquered by the Romans, founding a Gallo-Roman town called Lutetia. The city changed its name to Paris during the fourth century .From the twentieth century on, Paris suffered important changes with the reconstruction of different neighborhoods, many damaged during World War I and World War II.

Landscape

Paris, much like New York, is a city filled to the brim with buildings and stunning architecture. This does not leave much space for landscape and natural attractions. However, locals and tourists alike do find pleasure in the green parks, located throughout the city.

Paris Nightlife

Today, cabarets in Paris are a fun and entertaining part of nightlife in Paris. Cabaret shows usually include crazy can-can girls (our favorite part) but also singing, dancing, and juggling. Most of the cabarets also come with the dinner option or a glass of champagne so you are set for the whole night. There are also several nightclubs, sports bars and even night cruises throughout the city.
